Every March for the last 30 years, the International Dance Music Industry flocks to the sunshine of South Beach (Miami) Florida for the Winter Music Conference. During this week, shakers and movers of the industry mingle, network, preview new talent, in workshops, seminars and nightclubs. Winter Music Conference could be referenced to as Paris Fashion Week or the Cannes Film Festival, but for Dance Music. Over the week, you may find yourself in the same rooms as Carl Cox, Steve Aoki, Eric Kupper, Tommie Sunshine, Avici, David Morales, Hardwell and many of the industries behind the scenes power players, one just never knows who you will meet.
Among this crowd, you will see and hear a gentleman with his trademark beret and sunglasses, who is pressing the flesh with many faces listed above. You will walk into a club and see him behind the decks. This gentleman is none-other than John D’Angelo, and you may ask who is he…and by appearances you may think, looks like he should be out on a golf course… Which he is an avid golfer.
John, has been a notable radio DJ since the 1970’s, and was a leading trendsetter in the Atlanta area of introducing Dance Music to mainstream airwaves. John was ahead of the curve with introducing and programing Disco and Funk before the genres mainstay. John went on to do broadcast programing for overseas radio stations introducing American and European dance music to middle eastern countries until his retirement five years ago.
Now, John has taken his musical voice global with the use of internet broadcasting, which in almost anytime of the day and anywhere in the world, you can hear his show “Club Chaos” which features latest tracks and upcoming artist. John’s shows standout in a very unique way, as he announces the track and artist, spotlighting them. His music selection is nothing short of spot-on, as you listen, you will not only find your head bobbing along, but you can identify the music for your own collection.
With this said, we are happy to spotlight John D’Angelo’s most recent show of “Club Chaos” for your listening pleasure.
